The Soulard School
A small independent public charter right in the neighborhood at 1110 Victor Street, serving K–5 with team-taught, project-based classrooms.
Sigel Elementary
The St. Louis Public Schools neighborhood elementary at 2050 Allen Avenue, on Soulard's western edge, serving pre-K through 6th grade.
Lafayette Preparatory Academy
A well-regarded, tuition-free public charter (K–8) at 1900 Lafayette Avenue in neighboring Lafayette Square — "Lafayette Prep" to most families.
Peabody Elementary
A St. Louis Public Schools elementary just north of the neighborhood at 1224 S. 14th Street, serving pre-K through 5th grade.
Parishes & Places of Worship
Some of Soulard's oldest and most striking landmarks are its churches — and these congregations are still active today.
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church
Founded in 1841 as the first parish in the Soulard area — a Romanesque landmark at 1408 S. 10th Street, still served by the Vincentian priests.
Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church
A soaring German Gothic church at 1919 S. 7th Street, established in 1849 and a designated City Landmark — still an active parish.
Trinity Lutheran Church
A historic Missouri-Synod congregation at 812 Soulard Street, and a longtime anchor of the neighborhood.
Playgrounds & Parks
Pocket parks and playgrounds dotted through the neighborhood — gathering spots for neighbors, kids, and dogs alike.
Soulard Market Park
The green space and playground beside the historic Soulard Farmers Market — a lively spot for play, art fairs, and neighborhood events.
Pontiac Square Park
Bounded by Ann, Shenandoah, and S. 9th & 10th Streets, with two playgrounds, a summer splash fountain, and shaded picnic spots.
Aboussie Park
The city's smallest park, at 13th and Lynch — a playground, ball fields, tennis, disc golf, and roller hockey packed into under an acre.
Lyon Park
Just south of the neighborhood at Broadway and Arsenal, home to the historic General Lyon Monument and a freshly renovated (2025) playground.
